Lions Mane [Hericium erinaceus]

Lion’s Mane mushroom, sometimes referred to as Hedgehog Mushroom, Yamabushitake, or Houtou belongs to the tooth fungus, or hydnoid fungi, group.

It is both a delicious culinary mushroom and has a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The fruiting bodies of this mushroom contain polysaccharides, specifically beta-glucans, which have been studied to support immune health and overall wellness, as well as normal, healthy cell growth and turnover.

Lion’s Mane provides nourishment for the brain, crossing the blood-brain barrier to support brain cells directly. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes this mushroom is nutritive to the five internal organs (liver, lung, spleen, heart, and kidney) and promotes good digestion, general vigor, and strength.
