Lavender [Lavandula spp.]

With 47 species in its genus and 4 different types of categories, this old-world herb has a bigger family than just the mint family.

Lavare, meaning to wash has made Lavender popularized for its antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Not only can Lavender disinfect sores and wounds but also keep our floors shiny and scent our baths before bed.

The same volatile oils when inhaled release tension from headaches, stressful circumstances, and can calm an anxious or overactive mind promoting clear thinking.

Due to its clearing properties, it acts as a mild sedative, washing away insomnia for some.
